Our team was tasked with transforming an empty, open-plan office block into a state-of-the-art dental clinic. The project involved the conversion of the space to include three separate surgeries, an expansive open plan area for three additional dental chairs, an office, a reception/waiting area, a decontamination room, and a staff kitchen.

Scope of Work

Initial Strip Out:
Removal of existing installations and materials, preparing the space for remodelling.

Flooring:
Installation of durable and aesthetically pleasing flooring suitable for a clinical environment.

Partition Walls and Fire Doors:
Construction of partition walls to create defined spaces.
Installation of fire doors for enhanced safety and compliance with regulations.

Air-Conditioning and Ventilation:
Implementation of a modern air-conditioning system ensuring patient comfort.
Comprehensive ventilation system to maintain air quality throughout the clinic.

X-Ray Protection:
Installation of necessary x-ray protection in designated areas to meet health and safety standards.

Reception Desk and Office:
Reception desk designed to fit the clinic’s aesthetic.
Development of an efficiently laid out office space for administrative tasks.

Data Networking:
Setup of an integrated data network to support clinic operations and patient management systems.

Decorating:
Professional painting and decorating to create a welcoming and clean environment.

Electrical and Mechanical Services:
Complete overhaul of electrical systems including power, lighting, and data connections.
Installation of mechanical systems tailored to the clinic’s specific requirements.

Suspended Ceilings and Lighting:
Suspension of ceilings to house lighting fixtures and enhance the interior design.
Strategic placement of lighting to provide optimal illumination for dental procedures.

Outcome

The transformation of the York Centre office block into the Orthokink Dental Clinic was completed with meticulous attention to detail. The new layout and facilities have significantly improved functionality, allowing for efficient operations and enhanced patient care.
